Great images are never made by one person. Behind every strong campaign or editorial is a team – and knowing how to work within that team is one of the most underrated skills a model can have. Here is why teamwork matters on set, and how our models make every shoot run smoothly.
Who is on set
A professional shoot usually brings together several people, each with a clear role:
- The photographer, who directs the shoot and shapes the final images
- The stylist, who plans wardrobe and looks
- The hair and makeup artist, who prepares and maintains your appearance
- The client or art director, who represents the brand and the brief
- The model – you – who brings it all to life in front of the lens
How a good model contributes
Your job is more than standing still. Models who are easy to work with take direction quickly, offer subtle variations without being asked, and stay energised through a long day. Small things make a big difference: protecting the wardrobe, being careful with hair and makeup, and keeping a positive attitude when a set-up takes time.
Communication is everything
If something is uncomfortable – a shoe that does not fit, a pose that strains – say so early and politely. A calm, communicative model keeps the whole set relaxed and productive. Clients remember who was a pleasure to work with, and that reputation is what earns repeat bookings.
At Australian Model Agency we prepare the talent on our Melbourne board to walk onto any set ready to collaborate. Want to join a roster clients trust? Get in touch through our contact page.
