Modelling can look effortless in the final images, but a shoot day is a full day of focus, patience and professionalism. Here is what a typical booking really looks like, from call time to wrap.
Call time and preparation
Most shoots start early. You will arrive at the studio or location at your call time, well-rested and with clean skin and hair (unless told otherwise). First stop is usually hair and makeup, which can take anywhere from thirty minutes to a couple of hours depending on the look.
Fittings and briefing
Before shooting, the stylist will fit your wardrobe and the team will talk through the brief – the mood, the poses, and how the images will be used. This is the moment to listen carefully and ask anything you are unsure about.
Shooting
The bulk of the day is spent in front of the camera. You will move through different looks, poses and set-ups, taking direction and offering variations. Expect breaks between changes, and pauses while lighting is adjusted. Staying patient and keeping your energy up through the quiet moments is part of the job.
Wrap
At the end, wardrobe is returned, and the team reviews the day. A professional model leaves the set exactly as they found it – and leaves a good impression behind.
